This "flying- saucer" pendant light is the work of the Danish designer, Poul Henningsen. It is one of several variations on a theme that he worked on from 1926/7 through to the 1950s. The stacked shades motif also appears on some of his table lamp designs. Many of these lights and lamps remain on sale today and they have acquired the status of mid-century design classics.
